Centennial College Block A Expansion Achieves WELL Silver Certification
EllisDon is pleased to share that the Centennial College Block A Expansion has achieved WELL Silver Certification, under the WELL building standard--a testament to our dedication to crafting buildings with sustainability at their core.
WELL Certification focuses on human health and wellness and building structures that prioritize and enhance the well-being of all occupants. WELL’s standards are built on the latest scientific research on the impact of space on health and well-being, and industry best practices. This multifaceted approach to human wellness is designed to address a range of issues prevalent in modern environments, from mitigating burnout, to increasing movement, to safe air and drinking water.
“We focused on specific design decisions that prioritized air quality, water quality and thermal comfort,” said Pablo Lopez Arbelaez, Project Manager, Sustainable Building Solutions, EllisDon. “These are sustainability practices that align with EllisDon’s values, as well as Centennial College’s health-oriented mission. Our mutual goal is to improve the well-being of all Block A occupants, and achieving the WELL Silver Certification is a significant milestone in that journey.”
This milestone underscores our leadership in implementing design and construction practices that go beyond durability, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability. The WELL Silver Certification is proof our buildings also support the more intangible needs of those who use them. This helps us stay true to our commitment to leaving the world a little bit better than we found it. For more information about Centennial College Block A Expansion, read more about it here.
