Congratulations are in order for Ashwin Vadivelu, Director of Strategy & Origination, EllisDon Community Builders, for being named to the Tamil Canadian Center for Civic Action Top 30 Under 30 list! 

The Tamil Canadian Center for Civic Action ’s mission is to work towards the success of all Tamil Canadians in the social, political, economic and cultural spheres of Canada through education, documentation, engagement, training, mobilization, research, policy change and collaboration.

Ashwin was recognized for his work at the Canadian Tamil Professionals Association (CTPA) and at Hope4Child , a non-profit organization that works to create bright futures for vulnerable children in Sri Lanka.

“I know that the immense privilege I've had to receive an education and pursue a career here in Canada did not come without the sacrifice and loss borne by my parents and our Tamil community — I will always be grateful,” said Ashwin Vadivelu, Director of Strategy & Organization, EllisDon Community Builders. “I look forward to continuing my work with EllisDon, the CTPA, and the Hope4Child teams in improving the landscape and opportunities for our community in Canada and, North/East Sri Lanka — it takes a collective effort to make change and I am glad to be a part of it!”

Originally named a recipient of the honour in 2021, the awards ceremony was postponed until 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
