Supporting our Paralympians at the ParaTough Cup 2025

Last month, EllisDon participated in the ParaTough Cup, a half-day corporate challenge where teams compete in Para sports and get to know Paralympians through a fireside chat. This marquee fundraiser for the Paralympic Foundation of Canada raises awareness for the Paralympic Movement and funds for Canadians with a disability, allowing them to participate and excel in sport.

We had teams participating in the Calgary and Toronto events, competing in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, and Para ice hockey. Having the opportunity to take part in various Para sports offers participants a unique view into how technically challenging and physiologically difficult Para sport is.

“The ParaTough Cup is an amazing event. Year after year, our participants become inspired, motivated, and more aware of the challenges that Canadian Para athletes face,” said Wayne Ferguson, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Infrastructure Services, EllisDon. “This awareness and experience provide our employees with invaluable knowledge that they can take into their everyday work, allowing us to better understand how infrastructure can be adapted so that it's accessible for everyone.”

As part of our participation in the Toronto and Calgary ParaTough Cups, we were pleased to contribute $17,352 towards the Paralympic Foundation of Canada, which aims to create a future where Canadians with disabilities have opportunities to experience the power of sport.

Thank you to all that participated and donated to another successful ParaTough Cup!
