The Engineering Building VII project involved the construction of a new seven-storey building for the University of Waterloo Engineering department. The new facility is attached to the existing Engineering V building via a large atrium with multiple bridge connections at each floor level. EllisDon self-performed the cast-in-place concrete work, and installation of post-tensioned beams.

The area around the new build and inside Engineering V was kept operational at all times in order to avoid class disruptions. A new cooling tower and chiller in the existing building were tied into the new building while keeping the current users in Engineering V operational.
