The Story
The Expansion to the Dalhousie University Arts Centre involves the renovation of the existing space, as well as the construction of a new building. The new building will be a three-storey above grade concrete and steel structure. It will provide students and patrons with a 300-seat-concert hall, two rehearsal rooms, ten practice/teaching studios and a new home for the Costume Studies program—fit with innovative studios, fitting rooms and laundry facilities. The renovation of the existing arts centre will include new air handling units, ventilation and other associated finish upgrades. This project is a joint initiative between the Fountain School of Performing Arts, The Dalhousie Art Gallery and the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.
