Honouring National Day of Mourning
Today, April 28th, we at EllisDon would like to take a moment to recognize the National Day of Mourning. This a day to reflect upon and honour those who have suffered workplace injuries, critical incidents, or occupational diseases, as well as the countless lives that have been deeply impacted by these tragedies.
Safety is not only paramount but is the very heart of our EllisDon values. It is more than just a priority—it is a profound commitment that defines our actions. Honouring this day with open discussions on promoting workplace safety reaffirms our unwavering dedication to keeping our workers safe.
We all take on the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing our safety culture, every day. We strive to live by the principle: if you see something, say something. We encourage everyone to speak up when they walk by an unsafe act or condition; you could be the difference in keeping someone and those around them safe.
We invite you to honour this day by taking a moment of silence at 11:00am, no matter where you live, work or play, as we continue our efforts to enhance safety in construction work environments.
