EllisDon Supports local Covenant House and Boy With A Knife during COVID-19
EllisDon, in working with Hudson Pacific Partners, fundraised with Adamson Architects, Glotman Simpson, Integral Group, AES Engineering and Contemporary Office Interiors to raise over $8,200 to provide 5+ days of lunches to Covenant House Vancouver to help at-risk youth and the homeless during COVID-19.EllisDon and its partners teamed up with a local restaurant named ‘Boy With A Knife’ to make and package the meals for Covenant House. The restaurant was able to re-open its operations for these deliveries after closing operations in March due to COVID-19.
Two drop-offs of the lunches were organized and delivered by EllisDon’s Craig Enns, Vice President & Area Manager, British Columbia, Daniel Murphy, Vice President - Preconstruction Services, Ian Kerr, Vice President, Business Development, and Boy With A Knife owners Brandon Dac and Sean Fay on Monday May 4th, and Monday, May 11, 2020.Outside of covering lunches, the remaining funds will be directly donated to Covenant House Vancouver to support their operations.About Covenant House
Covenant House helps young people aged 16 to 24 who have fled physical, emotional and sexual abuse; those who have been forced from their homes; and those who have aged out of foster care.About Boy With A Knife
With Brandon as Head Chef and Sean handling front of house and the intricacies of owning a small business, the two of them have grown from a two man show to a fully functional catering company, complete with a sit-down restaurant-grill and a sandwich bar-deli for early morning and on the go.
